The Blue Mint Thai Journey
Blue Mint Thai was founded by Kenny and Ooy Amartana, immigrants from Thailand who carried a deep love for their homeland’s cuisine. Inspired by family recipes passed down through generations, they opened Blue Mint Thai with a simple yet powerful goal—to bring authentic Thai flavors to the heart of Texas.
For over a decade, their small mom-and-pop restaurant became a local favorite, known for its warm hospitality, bold flavors, and signature dishes like Crazy Drunken Noodles and rich, aromatic curries.
In 2023, Mike Wilson took the helm of Blue Mint Thai, continuing the legacy of authenticity while introducing a fresh, modern touch. A retired Arlington Police Detective and Air Force Security Forces Commander, Mike first crossed paths with the Amartana family through Om Amartana, the founders’ niece. Their shared passion for community, food, and service sparked a connection, leading him to carry on the Blue Mint Thai tradition.
Though the leadership changed, the heart of Blue Mint Thai remains the same. Ooy’s sister, Randy, is still part of the family, serving as General Manager of the Mansfield location and ensuring that the spirit of the restaurant lives on.
